Gotta walk before you can run.

Since I graduated from grooming school in April, I have started grooming a lot of different dogs, both on my own and in the salon that I work in. However, when I am working in the shop its difficult to be able to fully groom the dog, when there are 2 very experienced finish groomers working over me. I'll be 3/4 of the way done and they'll come in and finish whatever is left. That frustrates me. How am I supposed to develop my skills if there is always somebody there to fix and finish a dog? So its the dogs that I groom on my own where I really find myself learning and getting better. I am forced to see any mistakes and imperfections, as well as teaching myself how to fix them.

I know the day will come where I will be grooming 8 dogs a day and I won't have somebody coming in and finishing my work. Thats when i'll be running, but I just started walking on my own.
